Swedish Noren, 36, joined forces with Sergio Garcia to hammer Phil Mickelson and Bryson DeChambeau 5 and 4 in the foursomes.
It was one of four European wins on Friday afternoon as they secured a foursomes whitewash for the first time ever.
Noren, fighting back the emotion, said: “It was an unbelievable first day. I’m so happy to get it out the way, get a good point and playing with Sergio was fantastic.
“It means a lot to just be on the team and to get the point was great.”
Garcia then took the lead in the interview to give Noren time to pause for breath.
The Spaniard smiled: “I get so lucky. I get paired with amazing partners every time.
“On the front nine we just played amazing golf. There were a couple of shots on the back nine but I think we held on well.
“Alex was a rock and I helped him a little bit here and there and it was great fun to get a point. We needed them to catch up.”
Noren and Garcia were left out the fourballs line-up in the morning but showed just why they were sent out with a masterful display.
After composing himself, Noren added: It’s amazing. We all want to get here and once we get here it’s a different story to other tournaments.
“You want to perform, you dig deep and go with what you can play with. When you step out here it’s so different.”
