The all-star Marvel blockbuster is out next week on a wave of hype.
It’s poised to be the biggest movie of 2019 – and it could even make a play for the title of the biggest of all time.
Secrecy has been a key part of the whole Avengers: Endgame marketing campaign, and now Evans appears to have let something big slip.
In a humorous segment on Stephen Colbert’s chatshow, the key cast were asked a string of questions by the host’s staff members.
One of them was “who is the Avengers’ biggest enemy?”, to which the vast majority of stars gave the obvious answer: Thanos.
But Evans quipped: “Honestly, I’d say chafing.
“If you’ve ever run through an inter-dimensional portal wearing a skin-tight body suit, you know what I mean.”
Inter-dimensional portal? The use of the Quantum Realm now seems more likely than ever.
The Quantum Realm was first explored by Ant-Man at the end of his first solo caper, before being explored further in Doctor Strange and Ant-Man and the Wasp.
Kevin Feige said last year: “The Quantum Realm is a whole other territory that we can play with to tell our stories.
“This Quantum Realm is much larger than we ever imagined, and there are all sorts of adventures to be had at that level, which perhaps we will explore in another film.”
We don’t have too long to wait to find out how exactly Avengers: Endgame is resolved – it’s out in less than a week.
