WARNING SPOILERS FOR ANT-MAN AND THE WASP AND POTENTIALLY AVENGERS 4 AHEAD
One of the end credits scenes of the Scott Lang sequel tied in to Marvel‘s Avengers Infinity War and it didn’t look good for our hero.
While harvesting Quantum Dust in the Quantum Realm, Ant-Man lost contact with the Pym family back on normal-sized earth.
The reason? They had all turned to dust in Thanos’ Snap and now Ant-Man is trapped and in danger of entering a time vortex – as warned by Michelle Pfieffer’s original Wasp.
But now an Avengers 4 set photo from last year – which at the time was confused for Infinity War before we knew Rudd wasn’t in it – appears to show what happens next for the shrinking superhero after Ant-Man and the Wasp.
The picture show Scott looking confused and concerned by a pile of uncollected junk in a suburban street.
Apparently shots of him running with urgency were also captured at the time.
But why? Well fans on Reddit have found the exact spot on Google Street View in Atlanta, Georgia, where the MCU movies are shot.
And it turns out it’s just a block away from where Cassie Lang’s home is shot.
So what does this mean for Ant-Man in Avengers 4?
Well with all the junk nearby, it seems that Ant-Man did enter a time vortex in the Quantum Realm and somehow resized but a number of years after Thanos’ snap when half the universe’s population died.
This would tie in with other set photos of the Avengers surrounded by piles of rubbish and a grey-haired Tony Stark.
As for why he’s running – something he’s been spotted doing in Avengers 4 reshoots this week – surely he’s headed for Cassie’s home to see if his daughter survived the Snap.
And we’re pretty sure she did since Emma Furhmann has been cast as an older Cassie in Avengers 4, an actress who is six years older than Abby Ryder Fortson who played Scott’s daughter in Ant-Man and the Wasp.
There’s also rumours she will become Ant-Girl in a Young Avengers movie at some point in the next few years.
Avengers 4 will be released in UK cinemas on April 26, 2019.
