Manchester United boss Mourinho has struggled to get the best from Pogba during their two years together at Old Trafford.
The France star, who impressed as his side beat Peru 1-0 in their World Cup showdown yesterday, has been linked with Real Madrid, Barcelona and PSG.
Many Manchester United fans hold Pogba in high regard but, having clashed with Mourinho, it remains unclear what the future holds.
And Spanish website Diario Gol say Mourinho has decided to cut the player loose.
The 55-year-old is also in Russia at the World Cup, fulfilling punditry duties.
It is an open secret the two power figures have struggled to see eye to eye since the turn of the year.
Mourinho was livid at Pogba during a 2-0 defeat to Tottenham in February.
And, consequently, the midfielder ended up being benched for their two Champions League matches with Sevilla.
Diario Gol say Mourinho has decided that Pogba is not up to scratch.
The report suggests the United boss has told his No 6 to look for a new club – because there’s no place for him at Old Trafford.
Barcelona could sign him but whether they could afford the Red Devils’ lofty asking price remains to be seen.
Meanwhile, former United star Patrice Evra has told Pogba to focus on his football – and appeared to hint all is not well with Mourinho behind the scenes.
“I was begging him to stay when he left for United,” Evra revealed on ITV.
“The problem with Paul is that his image is becoming bigger than his football. He’s got everything, he just needs to be more consistent.
“He doesn’t have any special haircut today so the focus can be on his football.”
“He’s a really shy guy, people think he’s arrogant, he’s really humble, he wants to be the best.
“When he has a good connection with his manager [Mourinho], he will go to his best.”
