Meghan Markle, 37, reportedly hasn’t spoken to her father Thomas Markle in months, believed to only communicate through the odd text message.
Their relationship has been complex as of late, with Thomas conducting tell-all interviews and publicly discussing his daughter’s private life.
Despite rumoured plans that the two might reunite in the US this month, a source has revealed that Meghan told her close friends that she’s had “enough already”.
The comments are said to be a retaliation from the Duchess after Thomas Markle said in an interview that he felt “cut off” from his daughter who he had not spoken to in weeks.
Speaking to the Mail Online, the “close friend” of Meghan said that Thomas is using “emotional blackmail” to try and get to her and that Meghan is at the end of her tether.
The source claimed: “For the life of her, she can’t understand why he’s digging such a deep hole for himself and to say things like, ‘It would be easier for her if her dad died’.
“She said she just wishes her dad would ‘stop blathering’ to the press. That’s the one birthday gift she wanted from her father.”
The source also claimed that Meghan had revealed it was nor the first time she’s had to deal with her father’s erratic behaviour, reportedly describing him as a “narcissist”.
The source continued: “She [Meghan} does not have a bad bone in her body, but she’s not falling for her dad’s crocodile tears. She’s been down that road far too many times before.”
Contrary to reports late last month, the source also added that the Duchess had no immediate plans at all to contact Thomas.
After the drama with her father, it seems Meghan and Harry are getting stricter than ever, enforcing one rule to keep their friends from talking to the press.
According to the source, Meghan and Harry have issued a stern warning to their inner circle, in a bid to protect their private lives.
The couple is said to have faced their friends with an ultimatum – talk to the press and “you’re out”.
Taking to Vanity Fair, the source revealed: “They both expect a code of silence. If you talk to the press you’re out.”
On why Harry now cares about the press, the source told Vanity Fair royal correspondent Katie Nicholl: “He worries there is too much hysteria around Meghan and he wants to row back a bit.”
Despite being tough, the new rules have not seemed to have affected the couple’s friendships, spending Meghan’s birthday last week at one of Prince Harry’s close friend’s weddings.
On the day of her 37th birthday, the famous pair attended the wedding of Charlie van Straubenzee and Daisy Jenks at St Mary the Virgin Church in Frensham, Surrey.
Stylish Meghan wore a navy shirt with a full pleated skirt for the event. The skirt was midi-length and had a colour block style contain green, pink, black and white colours.
The Duchess unintentionally showed off a flash of her black lace bra as she waved to crowds.
Harry, a close friend of Charlie’, was an usher at the wedding, therefore he entered separately to Meghan.
