The Queen’s list of engagements is a subtle nod to Meghan’s former career as an actress.
The Duchess of Sussex played Rachel Zane in US legal drama Suits for seven seasons.
She retired from acting in favour of royal duties upon her engagement to Prince Harry, 33.
However, today’s events will surely take her back to her actress roots.
Meghan and the Queen will see three acting performances today with the Queen, reports the Liverpool Echo.
First, the pair will watch a performance by Fallen Angels dance theatre company.
They will then attend a production called A Little Night Music at the Storyhouse Theatre, as well as officially opening the new £37 million theatre.
Finally, they will see local schoolchildren perform alongside actors from the Swallows and Amazons troop.
As part of their busy day, the royal pair will visit the new Mersey Gateway Bridge.
They will also attend a lunch at the Chester Town Hall, hosted by the Chester City Council.
This is the first time Meghan will accompany Queen Elizabeth on a royal engagement.
The same honour was not extended to Kate Middleton, 36, until a year into her marriage to Prince William, 35.
Must Meghan wife curtsey to Princess Eugenie or the other way around?
In British tradition, women curtsey to those of a superior senior rank to them.
However, the situation is a little complicated for Meghan and Eugenie.
Eugenie is only ninth in line to the British throne, whereas Meghan’s husband is fifth in line.
So who curtseys to whom? It is said Meghan technically has to perform the gesture for Eugenie.
This is because Eugenie is a “blood royal”, explains former royal butler Grant Harrold.
“Technically Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice are blood royals,” he observed to Express.co.uk.
