Meghan Markle’s most high profile role was as Rachel Zane in US cable drama Suits.
However, the Duchess of Sussex was also very engaged in humanitarian work for women’s empowerment since childhood.
Evidence of this has remerged online in a beautiful TV campaign starring the wife of Prince Harry, 33.
The UN Women campaign is believed to have been filmed in 2015.
At the time Meghan had been playing her famous Suits role for four years.
A song by Florence and the Machine plays in the video as women from around the world are seen working hard.
An young Indian girl studies hard at a table as her father turns on a lamp for her.
Then Meghan appears in the video, writing at her desk.
She picks up her documents and walks through a modern building with white staircases and large windows.
The words “We see potential leaders everywhere” appear across the screen.
The camera swoops around Meghan who gazes blankly into the middle distance with a small smile on her lips.
“It’s time for more women to see it in themselves,” the video states.
It then encourages viewers to nominate women in their lives with the hashtag #NominateHer.
Meghan has worked with the UN as an advocate for gender equality and the empowerment of women.
She was a counsellor for charity One Young World and World Vision Canada.
In a speech at the UN on International Women’s Day 2015 the Duchess of Sussex told attendees: “I am proud to be a woman and a feminist.”
Meghan Markle’s father Thomas Markle has appeared in various TV interviews since Meghan’s wedding claiming the Duchess has not spoken to her dad since the day.
Despite rumoured plans that the two might reunite in the US this month, a source has revealed that Meghan told her close friends that she’s had “enough already”.
The source claimed: “For the life of her, she can’t understand why he’s digging such a deep hole for himself and to say things like, ‘It would be easier for her if her dad died’.
“She said she just wishes her dad would ‘stop blathering’ to the press. That’s the one birthday gift she wanted from her father.”

Charity and humanitarian work
Meghan Markle’s career in television has gone hand-in-hand with her support for causes close to her heart.
She wrote about the stigma around menstrual health in an article for Time magazine and was a Global Ambassador for World Vision Canada – with whom she travelled to Rwanda for the charity’s Clean Water Campaign.
And her commitment to gender equality has seen her work with the United Nations – receiving a standing ovation in 2015 for her speech to mark International Women’s Day.

But the pair divorced two years later in August 2013, citing irreconcilable difference.
She was in a relationship with celebrity chef Cory Vitiello for almost two years, before they broke it off in 2016 but the two remain good friends.
And in June 2016, she met Prince Harry on a blind date set up by a mutual friend.
Their relationship began in October that year and just over one year later, on November 27, 2017, the pair announced their engagement.
They married on May 19, 2018 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.
Some have claimed Meghan Markle is the first mixed-race member of the Royal Family.
Historians are still arguing about Queen Charlotte, the wife of King George III.
But Meghan will be the first royal to openly embrace a mixed-race heritage.
She has written about the difficulties of being a biracial actress in Hollywood as she claims she is not black enough for some roles and not white enough for others.
