Melania Trump puts on romantic ‘ACT’ with Donald body language expert

Melania Trump will visit the UK later this week with husband Donald Trump, who is President of the USA.

The First Lady and her husband will meet Queen Elizabeth, 92, and Prime Minister Theresa May, 61.

The couple put on a “choreographed” display of unity, according to a body language expert.

Body language expert Judi James analysed their interactions in video footage from a recent Fourth of July picnic at the White House.

She said: “There appears to be a growing congruence or complimentary ‘fit’ to this couple that was missing at the start of Trump’s time in the White House.

“Having evolved from a very nervous-looking First Lady with what appeared at times to be a horror of appearing in the limelight, Melania began to show her mettle via some of those dominant flicking away gestures when Trump reached for her hand, or in the way she seemed to correct him quite crossly at times with the dig of an elbow if he forgot to adopt the right pose in public.”

On the particular occasion, Judi observed Melania looked “warmer” than usual next to her husband. She also said they looked more like a “team”.

“At the start of the clip it is noticeable that she stands very close to her husband too, wearing a much warmer facial expression that her signature sphinx-like poker face with the chin raised in what can sometimes look like defiance.

“Both POTUS and FLOTUS look more aware of one another’s presence than I have seen before and Trump is clearly talking to his wife to keep the ‘team’ impact going.

“This ‘Team of Two’ performance is reflected in their choice of co-ordinating accessories. Donald sports a bright red tie and Melania has matched the look with a wide red bow on her belt.”

Judi continued: “The hand-clasp they then use to descend the stairs looks firm and rather mutual, suggesting some of this might have been choreographed to present a more united and even romantic-looking front for a pair not normally known for their love of PDAs.

“On a cynical note though we need to remember Trump’s apparent dislike of stairs and the way he grabbed May’s hand outside the White House.

“The hand-holding did endure though, suggesting that if it is a spot of synchronised togetherness then it is mutually agreeable to them.”

The expert was not entirely convinced by the pair’s show of unity, however, adding that Melania showed some “discomfort”.

“There are still some subtle signs of discomfort from Melania.

“After standing close she begins to look slightly distracted, pulling at the hem of her shirt and even juggling slightly on her feet.”

Will their show of unity continue at the end of the week when they visit the UK? Judi said: “With the UK visit looming the president and his wife could possibly be bringing this newly affectionate-looking and rather family-based double act to our shores.

“The nouveau-closeness between the Trumps could possibly be visible on Thursday though, with Melania posing in active First Lady role in a way that we haven’t really seen before.”

Melania is looking forward to meeting the Queen when she visits the UK, her spokesperson revealed last week.

“A highlight of any President’s visit to the U.K. [is when] the President and First Lady will travel to Windsor Castle to meet Her Majesty the Queen. I know the President and First Lady are really looking forward to meeting her,”

US Ambassador Robert Johnson told reporters last Friday.
