The sixth instalment in the Mission: Impossible franchise is coming to cinemas in the not too distant future.

The anticipation around the Tom Cruise sequel is mounting, and fans are clamouring for more details.

Is there new footage from Mission: Impossible – Fallout?

The official Mission: Impossible Twitter account shared a brand new clip from the sequel.

Tom Cruise is known for doing his own stunts, even when it ends badly for him.

Cruise once broke his ankle while leaping between two buildings as he filmed his own death-defying stunts.

For Mission: Impossible, he completed an exceptionally dangerous stunt: a HALO (high-altitude military parachuting) jump.

The stunt took more than a year to plan and execute and the stats of the jump are staggering.

Cruise’s jump required an extended free fall, a tactic used by military special operators, from 25,000 to 30,000 feet.

He flew through the air at speeds up to 220 miles per hour with the aid of an oxygen mask.

A camera operator used a helmet camera to follow Cruise during the scene, falling backwards from the plane just before Cruise to keep the close-up intact.

The premise of the Mission: Impossible – Fallout movie follows an IMF mission which ends badly.

Baddie Solomon Lane escapes custody and the world is faced with dire consequences.

Ethan Hunt takes it upon himself to fulfil his original briefing the CIA begins to question his loyalty and his motives.

He finds himself in a race against time, hunted by assassins and former allies while trying to prevent a global catastrophe.

The Mission: Impossible sequel stars Tommy Cruise, Henry Cavill, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Sean Harris, Angela Bassett, Michelle Monaghan and Alec Baldwin.

Mission: Impossible – Fallout opens in cinemas Wednesday, July 25, 2018.
