Prince Charles married Princess Diana in 1981, in a fairytale wedding.

Sadly, the relationship did not last and the break down of the marriage fuelled much media speculation.

In a resurfaced clip from Prince Charles: His Children, the Paparazzi & Marriage to Diana, Prince Charles addressed the divorce.

Charles was grilled by an interviewer on the break down of his marriage and whether he was unfaithful to his wife.

In the video Charles claimed he did attempt to be faithful to his wife.

He famously said: “Yes. Until it became irretrievably broken down.”

Judi said: “When he is asked if he tried to be faithful the right side of his face pulls up in an alarming rictus and when asked outright if he was unfaithful he manages a verbal ‘yes’ but his eyes look down in a cut-off, suggesting he’s keeping his true thoughts and emotions hidden.”

When the interviewer brings up the subject of Charles’ marriage the Prince’s body language signals “impatience”, according to Judi.

The expert said: “When the subject of faithfulness comes up his brows steeple and his eyes roll upward. He brings his hands to neck height and steeples his fingers, tapping the finger tips together.

“Steepling is a sign of status and the finger-tip tapping suggests deep impatience and annoyance at having to answer questions about his marriage.

“He then collapses the hands to signal anxiety, either wringing them or scratching his palm to hint at some guilt at the answers he is giving.”

Overall during the interview the Prince attempted to remain calm, but Judi claims this is not quite his state of mind.

“His anxiety, impatience and ‘hide’ rituals told another story,” she said.

“At times he even opted for the kind of verbal swerve that we normally associate with politicians who want to avoid answering questions or telling the truth.”

During the interview Charles discussed his friendly relationship with the woman who would become his wife, Camilla Parker Bowles.

Charles said: “All I can say is there has been so much speculation feeding on every other kind of speculation until it all become bigger and bigger and all I can say is that, I mean there is not truth in so much of this speculation and, erm, Mrs Parker Bowles is a great friend of mine, I have a large number of friends.

“She has been a friend for a very long time, a long with other friends, and will continue to be a friend for a very long time.”

Prince Charles’ youngest son Prince Harry, 33, recently married his bride Meghan Markle, 37.

Prince Harry was seen fiddling with his wedding ring recently, and Judi explained what it means to Express.co.uk.

Body language expert Judi James said: “Men are often seen fiddling with their wedding rings.”
