And not to be outdone, after watching Eva get airborne her son Graham, 75, granddaughters Dawn, 47, and Sally, 44, and nine-year-old great-grandson Felix copied her with their own solo skydives.
Eva, who as a novice had to be held safe by instructors, said she found the experience “absolutely exhilarating”. She said: “I can’t believe at the age of 102 I have been able to try indoor skydiving and feel what it’s like to float on air.
“It was a wonderful day and I’d love to try it again.”
Although this was the first time Eva had tried indoor skydiving, she is no stranger to thrill-seeking experiences. For her birthday last year, she enjoyed an acrobatic flight in a Spitfire.
For her 100th birthday she met the Queen.
Her family organised the latest thrilling birthday treat at iFLY Indoor Skydiving, Milton Keynes.
