Plan ahead for a successful road trip
The UK Summer Motorhome & Caravan Show is one of the most exciting automotive and camping events of the year, and will be live at the Kent Showground on the weekend of June 8-10.
Be one of the first people to see new and exclusive leisure vehicle launches from major manufacturers, and get inspiration from industry experts and celebrity enthusiasts as they share their passion for the great outdoors.
Any trip requires you plan and pack for what you’re doing. Fancy camping, then don’t forget a fold up table. Considering taking your motorhome to the lakes, then don’t forget to take your bikes and get a bike rack fitted to your car roof.
Here are some ideas of places to go and ways to see them. Why not compare notes with other campers at the Motorhome and Caravan show and meet up somewhere beautiful? Have a great time!
Hit the Lake District
There are few places in the UK with the natural beauty of the Lake District. There are plenty of campsites offering pitches in the area with easy access to the lakes along with walks, cycle rides and all the facilities you need to have a great time.
The area lends itself to picnics so don’t forget to pack a Halfords 40 Litre Coolbox. These run from either home mains power, or can run from 12/24v supplies too.
The coolbox can chill your food to 16 degrees lower than the ambient temperature and there are wheels so you don’t have to struggle taking it to where you’re eating.
It’s worth packing the Halfords Triple Mains Kit too, just in case you want to keep the coolbox running from the campsite supply.

Pop over to coastal Wales
Wales has some absolutely spectacular landscapes and breathtaking sea views at places like Fishguard.
Book a pitch and you’ll get to experience some of the best things Wales has to offer, from the picturesque fishing village to the green hills of west Wales.
While Wales is the perfect place to cook outside using Halfords Briefcase BBQ, which is now just £10 (save £5) we’re also going to accept the fact that there’s a chance of rain too.
Grab the Urban Escape Shelter with two sides and you’ll be sheltered from the wind and rain and can enjoy the superb views in total comfort.

Venture to stunning Scotland
If it’s natural beauty you want then Scotland is pretty tough to beat. From the famous lochs to the quiet highlands, there’s a lot to see all over this nation.
It’s always worth taking your caravan up to Loch Ness. It might be the obvious choice but when you get there you realise why, the views are breathtaing and there’s natural drama everywhere you look.
If you want to get away from the crowds then follow the A835 north and watch as the Lochs give way to windswept moors and the country opens up to you.
A picnic at a rest spot will be just what the doctor ordered. Pack some of Halfords rainbow cutlery, bowls, plates and tumblers to enjoy your lunch and sneak in the colourful four pack of wine glasses for the non-drivers to enjoy a refreshing drink.

South coast England at its best
Camber Sands is a stunning place to pitch. As the name implies the beaches are sandy and stunning. Dunes and hills provide places for the kids to run free while playing hide and seek.
You can either stay in Camber or head to nearby Rye. Both places have incredible walks, cycles and camping opportunities.
If you’ve got a tent you could even spend a night under the stars – if the weather allows it! If cycling is your thing then make sure your car or motorhome has a bike rack fitted. The Thule 591 is great value if you have a roof rack. You can use up to four of these on one rack, each costs £85 but if you buy one, you get one half-price.
Make sure you check out Halfords full range of glorious collapsible cooking range which includes a bowl, colander, washing bowl and bucket. There’s a matching (but not collapsible) dishwasher brush too.

The middle of England is awesome
A little to the west of Birmingham is the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With several great campsites to pitch a caravan or motorhome at it’s the ideal choice for anyone who lives in England.
Once you’ve got yourself there why not enjoy the views on the king of chairs, the Urban Escape Moonchair. Perfect for relaxing in the afternoon or enjoying stargazing into the night, it’s the perfect camping companion. You can also choose from the Urban Escape range with a choice of either black or blue chairs to suit your needs.
And finally, don’t forget to send a gloating postcard to friends and family wherever you go this summer!
