RAW General Manager Kurt Angle announced that Reigns and Lashley will take part in a multi-man No1 Contender’s Match for the red brand’s ultimate prize at Extreme Rules which takes place on July 15 at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
More competitors will be announced in the coming weeks for the bout that should include some hardcore stipulations as is customary for this specific Pay-Per-View show.
Lesnar hasn’t competed since the Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia two months ago where he beat Reigns in a controversial Steel Cage Match.
The Big Dog speared the Universal Champion through the cage but wasn’t awarded the belt even though his feet touched the floor first.
Since then, WWE have been booking the three-time world champion in a way that makes it look like his title bid is being sabotaged by management.
This is why Reigns is the favourite to go on to face Lesnar once more and probably dethrone him amid rumours suggesting that The Beast will return to UFC soon.
The Conqueror’s UFC background would make for an interesting bout with Lashley if the MMA hero manages to stand tall at Extreme Rules.
The ex-ECW Champion fought for Strikeforce and Bellator before returning to WWE on the first episode of RAW after WrestleMania 34.
Regardless of who else makes the cut for the No1 Contender’s Match, the Universal Champion will also have to keep an eye on Braun Strowman who recently won Money in the Bank and stated that he is coming after the UFC legend.
